J'allaite toujours mon fils.

Nourri de mon lait is a group room conceived and curated by Lada Neoberdina, as part of the exhibition Cru Cuit Miam & other sharing spaces 2 (cure care curation Anne Sechet) at the MDAC, an experimental, collective and inclusive space for contemporary art in Cagnes-sur-Mer, from 5 July to 4 October 2026. The room is devoted to breastfeeding, to the maternal body as a source of nourishment, and to the feeding cohabitation between mother and child.
An extension of Lada Neoberdina's visual research around motherhood, the room brings her own maternity into contact with that of other artists for the first time. Starting from her own works — plant-based ink drawings, breast-milk performances, textile installations — she invites Svetlana Maksimenko, Federica Peyrolo, Panthéa Ravanchad, Mahé Ripoll and Isabelle Varlet to engage with this shared territory. Motherhood and non-motherhood are explored through myth, symbol, memory and personal experience, in a curatorial practice that undoes the cliché of the solitary genius in order to make community.
I am still breastfeeding my son. And I am in complete fascination before this capacity of my body. Becoming the food of a living being has given me a new pleasure and new sensations, but also responsibility and anxieties. I have written poems about it, published a book, made performances and videos, and I decided to devote an exhibition room to it, inviting other artists.
The exhibition you are about to see is conceived at the rhythm of a few free days a month, of naps of varying length and of nocturnal waking. With much enthusiasm and love, with milk and tears, with friendship and sisterhood. As a family.
